Garden log, rainy day
Mar. 10th, 2016 07:55 amWeather: Rain today! 63 degrees or so, we won't need to have a fire.
On to life. Yesterday ended up being good, hectic. Got the catalog mostly done, interviewed a woman who impressed me, and went outside to burn brush and fertilize. I limed by the big pine tree and fertilized the various rose beds (two in the back garden, climbers in front of the house). Mom added bulb food to the daffodils et al.
I'm very sore from hauling brush, and managed to skip my chiropractor appointment again. Mom suggests I don't really need it at this point, and I'm tempted to just stop.
Thinking about talking to Lyn about her home renovation projects, I do have a couple small ones on my list for when-I-get-a-chance. Besides the filing, there's adding a curtain rod or two to the closet in here for clothes, and the basement insulation needs a little touch-up work. I should also test the new hose attachment, and the other two hose attachments.
Back to the garden, the next plant things are pruning, which I'm taking a stab at soon, and seed germination. Mom's getting started on that.
I haven't been writing fiction, but my journaling is flowing more smoothly and with more volume and ease.
There were two hassles gardening last year that I'd like to sort out this year early - watering and deer. We found one deer scarer yesterday, and can find the other. Maybe I should go back to the rotten egg mixture plan, that worked okay.
